Are you going to have to apply for one of the UK’s new biometric passports soon? You know, the ones which were going to make identity theft all but impossible and - through some unexplained mechanism - stop all forms of terrorism, as well as allowing all-and-sundry access to your personal data?

I’m sure you will die of non-shock to learn that they can be cracked with a £174 RFID reader and a 23-hour brute force ID-code attack. The piece also reminds us of the horrific failure rate of UK government IT projects, which should fill you with warm fuzzy feelings of what will happen when then try to roll out full national ID cards.
