Woo-hoo! I am cooler than you (but, erm, only slightly):

The Number 1 single was:
Cliff Richard - "We Don't Talk Anymore"

The Number 1 album was:

The Number 1 single was:
Odyssey - "Use It Up And Wear It Out"

"One, two, three, shake your body now!".

Awesome - off to itunes it is...

The Number 1 album was:
Deep Purple - "Deepest Purple"

\m/ I think I have a copy of this somewhere. A nice combination I'd say, once again demonstrating just how great the 80s were (as if any demonstration were necessary).

I must win the title of "un-cooolest" - with Al Martino "Here in My Heart" in the first ever chart for 9 weeks.

The album chart didn't even exist then. Oh God - I'm ancient!

@Carwyn: Nah, I think you still win (on a "quality of the song, ignoring social gubbins" front.)

@James: Yes, Another Brick in the Wall was an Xmas number 1. It's one of the great moments in British Misanthropy. (Also, if you ignore the lyrics, think back to the time when it was released, and just listen to the music, then it's very clearly a Disco song. Scary thought.)

Single: Pink Floyd - "Another Brick In The Wall"
Album: "Rod Stewart - Greatest Hits Vol. 1"

Does this mean Another Brick In The Wall as a Christmas number 1? Awesome way to be festive, guys.
