I don’t know if something has been lost in translation here, or the names in the text have been mixed up, but I’d love it if this article was correct and the guy did try to bite a panda:
Chinese tourist Zhang Xinyan lies in a hospital after being bitten on the leg by a panda at Beijing Zoo on Tuesday. Police were investigating Wednesday after 6-year-old panda Gu Gu bit Zhang after he jumped into the panda enclosure and tried to hug the animal on Tuesday. Zhang then bit the panda during a struggle, before zookeepers were able to rescue the man.
