The police in Edinburgh are, if nothing else, amusingly optimistic
Police are hunting for a scruffy-looking bag-snatcher after a young woman was mugged in Edinburgh at the weekend.
The 22-year-old victim was walking through Anchor Close, just off the High Street, at about 1730 GMT on Saturday when she was approached from behind.
The man grabbed her handbag and, after a short struggle, ran off with around £50, bank cards and a mobile phone.
He is white, in his 30s, about 5ft 8in, skinny, with short, dark, curly hair.
So, essentially, they’re looking for a scruffy looking man who was on one of the busiest streets in Ediburgh on a Saturday afternoon. Good luck with that, guys.
