Yahoo! Buys Del.icio.us
Title says it all really. This comes shortly after they bought Flickr, where nothing much seems to have changed as a result of the acquisition (e.g. it’s still slower than a slug that’s been superglued and stapled to the ground,) so it’ll be interesting to see if anything happens to del.icio.us as a result.
I think it’s pretty interesting to compare the different approaches that the search companies are taking in attempting to absorb the entire ‘net. Google seem to be trying to build all of their interesting services from scratch in-house, while Yahoo! are just buying all of these services in kit form and hoping to glue them together later on somehow.
