The [art|science] of [science|art]

Despite have far too much nauseating marketing weasel-speak on their website, Zazzle have some nice prints for sale. The two that led me to the site, are these prints of 3D strange attractor traces. They somehow remind me of these Chuck Anderson lithographs, but with, you know, bonus maths-y goodness.

March 22nd’s APOD looks like it should be the final scene from a bad space-based action movie, right after the evil guy has been fired out of the airlock by a hero who’s already looking forward to the cash for filming the sequel. That aside, do you have any idea how much I’d have given to be the guy in that picture? I just can’t stop staring at it. To go off on a further tanget, you are checking APOD every day, right? I love the site so much.

We should all be doing our bit to prevent the spread of Internet flash-memes, but this Flickr set of ‘transparent’ computer screens is surprisingly well done.

Edinburgh’s science festival starts tomorrow and, bizarrely, includes a talk from Larry Lessig. Not exactly sure why it’s bundled into a science festival, but what the heck, I’ll probably treck along there anyway.
