Another example of Craigslist becoming a forum for social commentary. ‘FOR SALE/BARTER: My body in Persistent Vegetative State…’ is just genius.
On a related note, I keep forgetting that Craigslist has an Edinburgh section. The last time I checked it, about a year ago, there were something like 5 posts on it, all months old. It’s picked up a bit since then, but there’s still not much useful stuff on it. It’s the sort of site that really needs to reach some kind of critical mass of contributors before there’s any consistent level of signal amongst the noise. I wonder whether Edinburgh is actually big enough for something like this to really take off, especially since it’s only going to appeal to a small percentage of the population for a good while yet.
As amusing as it is reading all the posts from spammers and/or lunatics, it’s all a bit of a disappointment at the moment.
