On Denial

6:30pm

Sophie: Paul, Gregori did something to the washing machine, please don’t look in the kitchen.
Paul: Hey, it looks like the kitchen is flooded.
Sophie: Yes.
Paul: You know what? I’m going out to dinner, I don’t care about this at all.

12:30pm
Sophie: We’ve had to turn the water supply off. If you want to use the toilet you’ll have to use this bucket to flush it with.
Paul: Wow. I’m so amazingly glad that I’ve had too much beer to care about this.

Summary

Something at the back of my mind is telling me that this will be kind of a big deal in the morning, but I can studiously ignore it for the next few hours.

Even iTunes agrees with me! The tracklist since I’ve got back has been:

The Slow Descent Into Alcoholism.
Eight Miles High
The Fool
Don’t Want to Know If You Are Lonely
