Glee!

I’ve been schlepping around London and Guildford for the last few days, going to various job interviews and spending far too much time travelling.

As a result, I’m not feeling overly coherent right now, so I’ll just quickly point out that I’m currently bouncing around the room in glee because of this.

(And yes, I probably have the entire set in various books already, but I am a good little consumer drone, so I’ll be buying it regardless. See also: The Complete Far Side.)

    Damn it! My Amazon wish list (not to mention the pile of books I’ve bought but not yet got around to reading) does not need to be getting bigger!

    I’m starting to think that my wish list isn’t actually about wishing for things any more. It’s more about wishing for time. Time to read all those books, time to listen to all that music, time to watch all those DVDs.

    Amazon as a cry of existential despair and plea for eternal youth?

    I think you’re right - I have a tip for you though: Don’t go to a library sale where all the books are $1 on a day when you have nothing else to do. I did last April, and I still have not recovered.

    You could say my “wishing for time” wish list is no-longer virtual. I have instantiated existential despair…
