Donnie Darko

I’ve just got back from watching a screening of Donnie Darko in Kensington Gardens as part of the Stella Artois Screen series.

I always love watching movies outdoors in the summer. There’s just something great about sitting on the grass at sunset with beer and popcorn in amongst a huge, cheerful crowd of people.

I still think that the movie itself is pretty much twaddle, but it’s at least entertaining and amusing twaddle. The National Symphony Orchestra and Michael Andrews also played the film score live before the screening. Much fun was had.

Having got back to the house fairly late, I should also take this opportunity to mention that the 24-hour bagel shop is civilisation’s crowning achievement.
