We’re All Gonna Die (Part 17329)

Ray Kurzweil and Bill Joy point out that releasing the genome of the 1918 ‘flu virus which killed 50 million people might not be the best idea ever.

Carrying on the theme: a ‘flu wiki. Yay obsessive-compulsiveness.

A creepy half-animal, half-plant microbe. A flagellate which divides into cells which either eat algae or perform photosynthesis.

And now for something completely different:You are all to be buying of the Rag Doll Kung Fu by Lionhead designer/artist Mark Healey. It’s being released independently via Steam, and is an interesting experiment in physics and user-input. It’s a series of small single- and multi-player stages, where you control your character by clicking and dragging his limbs around the screen with the mouse. It’s got a really fun graphical style, goofy cutscenes, and hardly costs anything. I’d like to see it do well, both to reward all the work he’s put into it, and to prove that there is still a market for small, independent games. Get to it!
